Bulldozer Borthwick is a born leader, with a presence on the field that not only unites his team but also strikes fear in the opposition.
His brute strength and determination make him a potent force both in the scrum, at breakdowns and over the gain line. He’s also a valuable asset during lineouts, using his height and reach to obvious effect.
A product of Preston Grasshoppers club, and a pivotal player in Bath’s 2008 European Cup victory, Borthwick is now co-captain of Saracens. He will also lead the England team out as captain for the 2009 RBS 6 Nations.
