It all depends on what sort of race you run. Running for minutes, or hours, makes a huge difference to how you prepare. Whatever your event, race or routine, proper hydration and fuelling play a critical role.

  • Remember to stay hydrated, during training and competition, by taking fluids on board.
  • Practise! You’ll get a feel for your sweat rate, which will help you understand your body and fine tune your hydration routine.
  • It’s worth experimenting with hydration strategies to see what works best for you… hydrating during an endurance run is very different to hydrating before and after a short session.
